From Soldiers to Elmo

This has been a very busy week for me... and I love every moment of it!  I got to make a Call of Duty cake for a 6 year old boy's birthday.  This was very exciting for me and challenging since I've never created guns or grenade's before.  However, I love a challenge!  I made a chocolate cake with chocolate icing, covered in camo fondant.  The helmet is made out of chocolate cake and the gun and grenade are made out of rice cereal treats then covered in fondant.  Here are some pictures of the cake:

 

Once this cake was completed I had to shift into another mind set and get ready for 2 1st birthday's for 2 beautiful little girls!  The first is cupcakes with Minnie and Mickey ears and a bow for Minnie... of course!  The second party is an Elmo theme party.... Elmo is a huge hit with my little girl so this was a lot of fun (and practice) for me!  The Elmo cake is vanilla cake with vanilla icing with fondant flowers and sign.  Elmo is made out of rice cereal treats and covered in buttercream with the grass tip.
